    Security on 99 Caddy has shutdown vehicle restart-starter is good, yet cannot get vehicle restarted, how do i get this car back working w/out breaking the bank?

    Last time started, vehicle dash read--"vehicle may not restart"....now reads "Security engaged" and "Remove Key"...waited 3 minutes/5 minutes, even 10 minutes, yet I cannot get this car restarted AGAIN!!! Whats up with that!!  It's a 99 Caddy with chip key..

      Call a Cadillac dealership and inquire, it might be something simple. A lot of times things will reset when the battery is disconnected and then re-connected, but inquire first. Electronics are really nice when they're working, but often I think it's just one more thing prone to breaking down.

        I agree with Shootah, Have you tried Information on your cadillac computer?  Maybe something there?

          Open trunk, locate reset button for fuel pump, push reset and try again.

            When you say a 99 Caddy do you mean a 1999 VW Caddy van / pickup in the UK?
