      I am afraid it is only after a long period I know a person is on them for her back she has been on them for 5 years and cant now stop I feel they dont even work now as she sometimes has to be topped up with morphine when her back gets really worse

        I think any drug can be addictive, tramadol doesn't work for me, morphine does, sleeping tablets mostly are ineffective for me as well, I'm way to used to most of them, anything you feel you are unable to function without I think indicates addiction.That is excluding life saving medication.or medication for chronic illness
