Hi Cherilea are you talking about a Medical or Golf Stroke? Just kidding. I can kid because it's no laughing matter. My Husband had a stroke at age 43. Anyway, I found some information for you. You can also look it up on www.WebMD.com or www.stroke.com but the info was way to clinical for me. Especially www.stroke.co, Here's from yahoo: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110213145243AAY5f7A
Are you referring to a TIA, or a transient ischemic attack? However, calling it a "fake stroke" isn't exactly correct terminology. It is an emobolitic (blood clot) or in some cases a spasmodic (spasm of the cerebral arteries) event that results in reduced blood flow to the brain. However, because of the small size of the event, symptoms often resolve in about 24-48 hours without any major deficits...sometimes without any treatment.
There are "fake strokes" where someone has a "pseudo stroke"...this commonly referred to as a neuropsychiatric disorder where the patient has symptoms that are somewhat similar to a stroke, but indeed, are not a stroke and there is no evidence for having had one. It's often associated with post stroke or traumatic brain injury depression.
