    How do you know if a piano is out of tune?

    Please answer. I have a piano, and I don't know if it's out of tune or not

      When a piano is out of tune it is obvious... Do ray me and so on up the keys... if your piano is out of tune you instinctively know even if you can't carry a tune.


      Piano tuners where I live start at $100.00 just to walk through the door.

        What will you do if it is out of tune? You will have to call a tuner. :)

        Or you take your 100 year old piano to the dump like people tend to do..."It is taking up space!"
        My piano is older than my house. And... it it totally out of tune! :D

            When you play it if everyone covers their ears and runs for cover the piano is either out of tune or you do not know how to play one.

              By playing and listen to it..............play something that you know how it is to sound and see if it sounds right!

                  Strike the keys that are played the most in octaves starting in the lowest bass key all the way up to the highest treble key.  If they all sound the same, and don't have any twangy sounds the keys are in tune.  Try ii in all 12 keys to see if all 88 keys are in tune. Starting in lowest bass A key.  That's why the perfect pitch is called A-440
