I think you would need to remove the paint that was applied after market see here for how to do that>>> http://www.ehow.com/how_5035215_remove-paint-cast-iron-tub.html
Hopefully the paint under the top coat is fine. Otherwise it's quite a project to repaint the tub, see here for that >> http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/video/0,,1631531,00.html
