    How to prevent download time outs

    Some downloads time out and I can't get the update file for ipod touch or itunes, Can I adjust download time out limit?

      You would need a faster processor or more RAM, the time outs occur because the download has more information than your processors can handle at the given time while they search for places in your RAM to store the information. 


      Edit....I now just saw you are asking about ipods, I do not know about ipods. Try apples discussion forums https://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa

        I have an intel i3 core, is RAM then my problem?

        It could be your problem if you have a lot of downloads chewing up space. Have you done a defrag lately?

        No, have not performed a defrag. How do I do this?

        Defrag computer Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter.
