      Do you have a good anti virus installed and on auto-update and auto scan? Have you defragged your computer lately? Do you dump your cookies before you log off? Have you checked with your internet provider to make sure your internet signal is at it's perk? All these things can enhance your computer performance.

          I never liked internet explorer but it is possible you have upgraded it to the point it is not capable of your computer memory running it right. You may have to go back and uninstall and reinstall the one you had before the latest one?
