A zip code is a postal code especially for addresses served by the US postal service, consisting of a five-or nine-figure number.
When people send you mail there will be a postal code icluded with the address. Sometimes a company will ask for a zip code and if you don't live in United States you can't very well give one. That company may or may not sell outside of the United States.
