I'm called bat lady in my street. What kind of bats are they? If they are micro-bats you can keep them out of your roof by putting mosquito wire in the places they enter. If the bats are outside there's not much you can do. You can call some wild life services to remove the existing bats in your roof. In Australia, bats are protected and it could be the same in the US. Bats are dying out fast because people are shooting them.

Dunno but when you find out what works let me know there are quite a few at work I would like to see be gone.
