Definitely turn lights and anything not being used.

Even stanby users power, not a great chunk but (drum roll)

Seems like it wouldn't matter. I saw a program that said turn everything off.  Everything you are not using,  you are spending money,  because some type of counter is counting anything left on.  PG & E also put out some pamphlets, saying unplug what you are not using or pay. 

Anything powered on is costly. Things like cell phone chargers that are left plugged in, even without the cell phone, can use power. Don't stick your tongue in the light socket, either.

Florescent lights cost more when you turn them on its cheaper to leave them on Unless its for long periods (days and days)

You might also want to consider the cost of switches and the bulbs that will wear out quicker if turned on and off over and over.

Off off and more off if not being used. Must say I do not go round unpluging everything at night too much trouble. I always thought why leave the light on unnecessarily.

I still say turn things of and get your self a electricity monator that tells you haow much you are using it even shows you how much a bulb is costing per hour we have one and it does make you turn lights of as you can see $$$$$ signs on it
