If the sign "x" is the alphabet x, then the steps are as follows:

    2(3x-5)+5

= 6x-10+5      (remove the brackets by multiplying 3x-5 by 2)

= 6x-5              (add or subtract the like terms -10+5=-5)

If the sign "x" is the multiplication sign, then the steps are as follows:

    2(3x-5)+5

= 2(-15)+5       (do what is in the brackets first by multiplying plus 3 by minus 5 which is -15)

= -30+5            (remove the brackets by multiplying plus 2 by minus 15 which is minus 30)

    = -25                 (add minus 30 and plus 5 which is -25)

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    2(3x-5)+5

    =6x - 10 +5

    = 6x -5
