It means transferring you to an other site .Two roads one has a big hole and I said to you take the other road no holes .Now that is redirecting. "Shucks I am tired going to lie down. 

You are driving in your car or riding your bike to a hockey game.  A deer hits a man riding his bike.  The security or policeman blocks all traffic going to that direction.  He puts up a sign with an arrow pointing for everyone to go in a different direction.  Everybody starts turning in the direction that the policeman is pointing and that the sign is indicating.  That policeman and that sign has just redirected.  Funny but this sound like a ufo question and its funny. But if it is a ufo question i don't want to know.

To direct again, or to change the direction to somewhere else.
