    1(1+1.8/4)x4

    = 4( 1 + 0.45)

    = 4 × 1.45

    = 5.8

PEMDAS  (parenetheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction)

    1(1+ 1.8/4) x 4

    1.8/4 = .45

    1(1+.45) x 4 = 1.45 x 4 = 5.8

    I came up with 16. 8/4 = 2 plus 1 plus 1 =4, times 4 = 16. What have I forgotten? Thank God I don't have to do math like this anymore.....
