Sawai - have checked - this was the big one "The Great Crash" on the date I have given the Wall Street crash You are right there was a Black Monday on 19th October, 1987 which involved the world stock Market but it was the Wall Street Crash I meant - help - sorry. Therefore the first date is the answer to the wrong question,- should have been the second date as herein.

TSC - search Google again - It says 28th October, 1929 - Black Monday. Every body else here says Friday and I have just checked it just now?
I asked this as I heard it on a quiz show and thought I should ask a question or two.

October 24, 1929, the start of the Wall Street Crash of 1929 at the New York Stock Exchange. "Black Tuesday" was the following week on October 29, 1929
