    Cherry trees do not survive Alaskan winters.

    "Species from the lower 48 states almost never thrive in Alaska, due as much to different light phases (the transition to days of short daylight is faster in Alaska) as cold temperatures."

    There are special apple tress that are grafted to survive Alaska's harsh winters. You would need to go to an Alaskan garden store to find those.
