I hate rude pushy people with no manners that rush onto the elevator as soon as the door opens as though it is there just to let them on. The etiquette is to let people off the elevator first! GET IT!
    gandor

I hate it when you go to the gas station and the cashier asks"did you have any gas"? I know they watch those gas pumps like a hawk on a hunt
    mycatsmom

gandor, you and ducky should get together. Everything would be just ducky !

Gum on the ground.  Drivers that drive too close.  Customer service people that are rude.  Kids and grownups that bully others.

    itsmee

There is either more bullying or more people who have had it with that evil. It’s in the news and on talk shows. Hooray!

Having to ask a question twice when you know they heard you the first time.

    digger

Good one. I reply it with "That's right"
    mycatsmom

I don't ask it twice, b/c my friend, Ron, always says Huh ? So I jsut stand there and let him figure it out. Then,he answers me.

    ed Aman to that!

People leaving their baskets in the parking lot instead of placing them in the cart holder. A person will walk from one end of the store to another, sometimes taking a couple of hours to shop but, once they empty the items from  the basket into the car then all of a sudden they can't seem to muster up enough strength to walk a few more steps. When I'm next to someone who does this, before they leave, I'll grab their basket, stare them down, and then let them see me walk over and put it in the cart rail.  Lazy sh!t heads who don't give a crap about other peoples property. How many times have you seen a basket that was left behind by someone slam into another persons vehicle and dent it? Glad I got this off my chest Itsmee, Thank you for the vent! (*~*)

    Thanks! (*~*)

Bad grammar that is obviously bad.....

    mycatsmom

    jh, see below

"Look it"   people say that all the time instead of. "Look at this"  I think it is a Canadian thing ... drives me quietly nutty.

    Benthere

Thanks for that bit of info....
    Benthere

    Are you seriously peeved ?

Pestering you is one of the simple pleasures in life !

Note: If I am truly bothering you...I will stop in an instant ! ...and it will never happen again.
    Please let me know.

Not waiting for you to finish an answer before they ask another question. My tendency is to stop talking & just ignore them when they do that.

    mycatsmom

or, interrupting you to finish your story or sentence, or to say something irrelavant.

The use of "upspeak".  When one makes all sentences sound interrogative.

So..it's a sunny day? Yesterday it rained? Tomorrow will be nicer? I plan to go shopping? I'm going with my brother? Like that? hahaha
    itsmee

Ducky, I think that bothers you too! You are quite good at it. I couldn't think of an "upspeak"

My housemate yells,  "Telephone!" every time the phone rings and I can hear it just fine! I also hate double negatives.........

    digger

Get even. Each time you turn on an appliance, yell out it's name.

    TOASTER ! T.V. ! BLENDER ! VIBRATOR ! (oops)
    jhharlan

That's funny, I'll start doing that right away and tell him I'm going to do it, too....
    itsmee

So funny, jhharlan. My son used to yell "There's your buzzard!!" Every time my house timer went off. Uh, He was about three at the time. : )

digger, that's funny too. A great idea for someone who has the same problemo.
    jhharlan

I need his money each week...
    jhharlan

He works, I am the SSDI recipient here... We were a couple 8 years ago but now we are just housemates, we have outside interest, IF it's any of your business...........
    mycatsmom

me too, b/c my mom and my aunt drilled me on not saying double negatives. And not saying " Her and I..." or "Him and me ''

Also when someone says I axed you a question instead of let me ask you a question.

    itsmee

Ha. I used to hear that on old Oprah - not the newer holy Oprah.
    digger

That's when Oprah became an OREO cookie.

...and another BIG one....."I seen".  NO  NO  NO....I saw or I have seen or I've seen...NOT I SEEN.

    Tommyh

    & duck tape

I wonder why business owners who have a set of double doors at their entrance, always seem to have one side locked?  I've asked and they can't answer me.  ("Oh, I'm not sure why that's locked".)

    Yvonne57

Too lazy to open both sides. Too much of a habit maybe.
    Ducky

    Moderator
That takes a lot of effort??? grrrrr
    Tommyh

It also keeps people in wheelchairs out.GRRRR!
    Ducky

It's a complete mystery to me, why they don't open BOTH doors. Just seems logical to me.

People who do not employ manners ! ALSO FOOLS WHO TYPE ALWAYS IN CAPS !!! (just kidding with that one itsmee).I like to tease. I would say some people are peeved by those who tease...

AND people who throw unprotected gum on the streets or sidewalks just waiting for me to step in it......

people who interrupt every conversation with their opinion right or wrong (mostly wrong) arrgg

That would probably happen here too except that we can't! lol

Hard core leftist liberals and hard core right conservatives drive me nuts.. I can't stand either one of them. Unfortunately they get all the publicity.  I am talking about the extremes.. I live around extreme leftists here in my part of CA, when I go home to Ohio or visit my sister in Bakersfield I get the right extremists.

    itsmee

I choose your pet peeve. You sure are in the left part. I think it would be better than Bakersfield! Bakersfield may be as bad as it gets.
    Vinny

Actually, I like Bakersfield except for the right wing extremist and the desert heat. Bakersfield in the last 25 years has really built up and i don't think its considered as the 'armpit of California' anymore-- except to some farleft people.. My sis lives in a very nice neighborhood with all new homes, her home is only 8 years old. Here in the silicon valley her home would be 7X's what they paid for in Bakersfield. I have thought many times of moving there myself.. But I am in the piano business, if I go there I would probably need to go into the banjo business.. LOL
    itsmee

What is considered the armpit? Fresno? We have the worst air in the US, the highest rate of car thefts. There are good parts, but we all breathe the same air. I guess Bakersfield has changed up. Good.
I think you’re lucky to live in Silicone Valley. Try a summer in the heat!
The only place you can go outside is the pool.
    Vinny

I almost went to work in Fresno, there was a Steinway dealer there that offered me relocation, fortunately I didn't take it they went out of business back in March (Fresno Piano) I've only been through Fresno a couple times, I must've been in the good part because I didn't think it was that bad, I do know of the heat though, like sticking your head in an oven, very dry and hot! I don't think I would have a problem with it though, I like the hot
    itsmee

New response: I heard on the nightly news that Fresno has the most homelesness. Others have heard different reports. Where ever people go homeless is just terrible - an abuse of people and children. One quarter are kids. "I'd like to change the world but I don't know what to do"
    mycatsmom

You're from Ohio, Vinny ? So was my late husb, and his family still lives there. They all stemmed from the Cleveland area.
    Vinny

Cat* Cleveland is WAY north of where I am from. I am from Cincinnati, right on the Ohio River next to Kentucky. Cleveland next to lake Erie. Too cold up there for me but lately, southern Ohio has been hit hard too. I remember in 1978 the blizzard, We were holed up for 3 days. Even after getting out you couldn't go anywhere.it was about 2 weeks before things were back to normal.

Lousy spelling and grammar, as seen frequently on this forum .

    itsmee

We are all different ages and we all have different educations. I am glad people post and if they aren't good spellers, it's ok with me. If they stay on for awhile their spelling will get better. (My main problem is my punctuation. I keep thinking I should take a course. School was a long time ago.
    nomdeplume

Itsmee, surely everyone has access to a spellchecker and to learn the rules of punctuation, the best book is 'Eats Shoots and Leaves' by lynn Truss.
    itsmee

nomdeplume, I missed that the first time around. I'm going to search the library for that one. It sounds like a painless way to learn punctuation. Clever title really gets the point across! : )

My pet peeves are pens that don't write, staplers that are out of staples, and blinkers on cars that don't or won't blink!

In nice weather I like to travel by public transport,  no such thing as Q especially, when it comes to older people and school children,  no manners.

    itsmee

    Q? I don’t understand but probably should. : )

When my boyfriend tells me he can fix something and then he spends the whole time asking me" how do you do this and how do you do that."

Gum snappers. It's why I pack a nine with me :)

    Ducky

I AM a gum snapper...my friends hate it. I try to enjoy my weird obsession, only when I am home alone...on akaQA. Can you hear me?? SNAP..SNAP..SNAP

    itsmee

I'm glad you have a doctor to talk to about this. It sounds like you are being bothered by some bullies. Bullies make me sooo angry.

People who criticize others while making excuses for themselves,  liars, constant complainers, cheaters, and thieves.

...... and all the answers from EVERYBODY else.

1} People who talk incessantly,...about nothing at all worth listening to, and don't get a clue! !  It's just noise!

2} People who constantly interrupt anothers' sentence or conversation.

3} People who don't return borrowed books.

Could go on, but I don't care to be someone else s pet peeve....................LOL!

As in....people who go on and on? hahaha

dunc: i have trouble using the thumb up and I never (well, once) use the thumb down. If I ever give you a TD, let me know.  This goes for anybody else too.

People who take exception when you give a product a Thumbs down and not them they're quite soft aren't they especially when the person giving the thumbs down doesn't know they have done anything wrong
