Prime numbers are those numbers whose factor is the number itself [excluding 1 since 1 is the factor of all the numbers].
For example, Factor of 2 is 2 only [ excluding 1]
Similarly, factor of 3 is 3 only [excluding 1]
factor of 5 is 5 only [excluding 1]

Hope this has helped you to some extent. Now share the ideas with your friends too.

A prime number is a number that has factors 1 and itself.

For example, 5 is a prime number because its factors are 1 and 5.

6 is not a prime number because its factors are 1, 2, 3 and 6 (it has more factors than 1 and itself). This type of numbers are called compound numbers.

A number which can only be divided by itself.
