First created in 1925, the Duoplan (Caliber 104) was what led link LeCoultre & Cie. to embark on their wristwatch venture. Not yet in full wristwatch construction territory, LeCoultre created the caliber in Le Sentier, Switzerland and had the bracelet and finishing parts assembled by Jaeger in Paris, (then known for link designing and manufacturing cases link for big maisons like Cartier). The two companies would officially merge in 1937.
