Last June I bought a necklace for a VERY close relative. The price was $70.00 and it was for her birth day on December 7. She wanted the gift early because she was giving a jewelry party and she would get a discount on her other purchases? I've asked for it two or three times and I don't get it! What shall I do?
I assume my relative is wearing her gift early or the woman who was the sales representative is wearing it. Grrrrrrr. I KNOW I will get it back, but the thing is I'm angry and it might show. If I push on this issue it will probably ruin our relationship. Should I just forget it?

Colleen: i'll post here and maybe avoid those multiple posts. My dear relative says she wouldn't think of wearing the necklace early. She says the sales representative has it at her house. I realize as I write this that I MUST give it up. My daughter (ooooph) is in the wrong but I will just let it be.

Well you gave it as a gift, she is free to do with it what she wants once it's in her possession. Next time, spend less on her. Learn from this ;)
yes, i will remember to not spend that much. it is too much for our budget and some would consider HER wealthy.
she knows that I love gift giving. if I don't have the money, i'll paint something as a gift. i love the whole gift exchange. this year i'll get stuff for the kids, but there will be no christmas gift exchange for the adults. i don't want to do it anymore. it's no fun anymore. grrrrr.
