    They played six games.  Cardinals had Stan Musial at that time!  Their team wasn't too dinged up by WWII, but the Browns had lost many players to the war effort.  They were a ragtag gang of misfits, alcoholics, and what-not for the most part. 
    The junior world series was held in Baltimore that year and drew a bigger audience than the World Series.  Baltimore then became another city that could and would sustain a major league baseball team.
