Store in a cool, dark space (like a cellar...) and they will keep for months..........

Like a root cellar, meaning no heat. Finished basements with heat are not helpful.

I'm from Texas, I don't even know what a basement looks like... Guess I won't be storing apples.....

    "Eat them?

To help keeping your apples fresh for a long time in the winter it is better to keep them in an uncovered bowl on the counter away from direct sunlight.
