Know that you are the parent and not their best friend.  Know that you cannot buy love and there has to be discipline, rules, and bounderies.  Know where your children are all the time and who their friends and their friends families are.  Not letting your kids have their way all the time just to try to win their love this never works they disrespect you for it.  Remember you are the parent, not the other way around.

compassion , empathy , understanding, consequences, consistancy, boundries, morals, ect ect ect ...  lol , bottom line, love your child, treat them the way you would expect to be treated as a child,  teach them to love themselves, to respect themselves, and to value life.
