Corn gluten is the byproduct of the corn-milling process. It's a fine yellow powder that somewhat resembles corn meal, except that it's less granular. In this form, it is considered unprocessed corn gluten
Corn gluten is a natural byproduct of processed corn, and is found in farm-animal feed and pet foods. But Dr. Nick Christians of Iowa State University discovered, by accident, that corn gluten could also be used as a natural herbicide to control weeds. It's harmless to humans, animals and established plants, as well as to the environment.
