      Two options : It is possible to just close gmail and not sign out leaves the door open so to speak like not locking the house when you leave . Bad idea but no sign is required when you return . Next ,if you have the rember me option choose that  and it leaves you signed on . Engage auto fill and that speeds things up when you sign in .
