The rich cove woodlands along the lower drainages, is lush with Rhododenron, Mountain Laurl, and Tulip trees. Between these two ecological extremes are other vegetation zones. Notheran Hard Wood, Oak-hickery, Beach-maple and Pine-Oak.

Is it a rocky plateau or one that is more soil?  The rocky ones have a scrubby (small) plants because there are less nutrients in the cracks where the seeds settle from being blown there or birds drop one way or the other.  Usually in the dry climates, not much grows very big.
