    nerve damage that is quit painful. Common for diabetics. the medication neurontin can be used to treat it .there are other medications used for treatment. 

    Neuropathy (or peripheral neuropathy) is a condition that is derived from many disorders that occur when there is damage to the peripheral nervous system (the nerves that are not in the spinal chord or the brain). Neuropathy usually causes pain and numbness in the legs and hands. Causes of neuropathy may be: metabolic disorders, severe injury, exposure to poisonous substance and infections. it can aslo develop from having diabetes.
