I sure hope this guy got a fix, this was 10 months ago.. However, as a prostate cancer survivor, I can add to this for any future victims of prostate cancer.
Sometimes they will insert the wrong size 'tube' this will cause great pain, either too big or too small, the pain is the same, you will expierence 'bladder spasms. They are quite painful. There is nothing the paitent can do to relieve this pain other than gritting your teeth and squeezing the bedrail as hard as you can. You must get it adjusted to fit. I had a terrible time with that. Also, you must have that thing with you for about 3 or 4 weeks. If you get the bladder spasms under control, you won't feel a thing, totally painless. Fortunately, they insert it while in surgery so you don't feel that. I also had a catheter placed when i had a kidney failure, i was awake for that, this is not good, The word 'hurt' is way too small for the amount of pain I went through for that! Ouch!
That said, I am happy to report that I no longer have kidney problems, nor do i have cancer of the prostate anymore.. I am a survivor!! :) Yiipee!!
