How to fix the margins in Word 2007

I'm going along, minding my own business, when wham, my documents margins go squirrelly and everything is shoved over to one side and is not balanced on a page. How do I get my document (and my mind) back into balance?

In Word versions prior to Word 2007 (Vista):

    1. Click the File->Page Setup menu item.
    2. On the Margins tab, set the margins as you want them.
    3. If you want to make these your default margins for future documents, click theDefault button.

    In Word 2007:

    1. Click the Page Layout tab on the Ribbon.
    2. In the lower right corner of the Page Setup group, click the little arrow.
    3. Continue as in Step 2, above.
