The Chinese have used to vinegar or similar liquid to pickle eggs for thousands of years. Oddly, the color is black inside and is called "Thousand Year-old Eggs." It's absolutely delicious.
After you crack the egg, slice the egg up, add some onions or scallions, add it with some fried garlic, and squeeze some lime juice on it. Stir and serve. Yummy!

If you leave an egg in vinegar long enough the shell will disolve leaving only the inner membrane. It's pretty cool. I've done it quite a few times. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061130214150AABqHKt

You can squeeze them into a coke bottle, that's what we did when we were kids but you don't see coke bottles anymore..

Put egg in vinegar for several days, it will become very elastic, you can carefully squeeze it into a small opening, once inside it will spring back to original shape..
Remember, this is not an overnight thing.. It takes awhile several days.. I guess you could put food color in it, why not? Where's a coke bottle?? I thinks the Smithsonian has some but I don't think they let you put an egg in it.. LOL You can also bounce this vinegar egg like a ball off the floor..
Also! take a hard boil an egg, remove the shell, drop a lit match in a bottle with a smaller opening than the egg and the egg will be sucked into the bottle as the match burns the oxygen and creates a vacuum..
