    Yes I think he was more repsonsible for it than anyone else,although I read the book called nuremberg Evil on Trial, and they all beleived they were right in what they did right up to their execusions.

    Even though anti-semitism existed in Europe regardless to Hitler's existance, I think Hitler's personality must have been more that 90% of the causes of the Holocaust. He was the driving force and the (extremely twisted) visionary behind this occurrence. If it wasn't for him, it wouldn't have happened.

    A documentary many years ago claimed that Hitler initially was appalled by the suggestion of mass murder/genocide. He was in favor of sterilization of the Jews and they were to be used as a labor force. Obviously he was convinced of mass extermination. On a personal note, my grandfather was murdered by the Nazi's. He was a natural born German who spoke out against Hitler and his agenda. He was arrested and put in front of a wall and shot dead. Germany was not a good place for anyone at the time.
