What are your thoughts on terminating a pets pregnacy???

The boat has sail on the "should have spayed it sooner"...

To be honest Jenn,  Im shocked at question, as I never heard of that before. Its not easy to answer. Maybe let your pet, give birth, and leave her with one baby, as she miss them. Hopefully some animal charity etc, would be able to advise you what to do with rest.

She does not quite weigh 3 lbs. My last tiny dog died while at the vets office... We decided to play it safe and wait for her to be over 3 lbs before we put her to sleep to have her fixed... She never got that big. I dont know if she would live through a pregnacy let alone delivery.
To make things even more sad... Her litter mate is the sire.

We did not have him neutered at the request of our breeder.. She wanted to breed him... (his sire is getting older, and she does not want to breed him any longer)
We have kept them apart and dont know that our girl is pregnant... But I have noticed she is in heat.
I am going to talk to the vet tomorrow... I am worried about the girl... She is so tiny...
If she is not pregnant I am going to fix the male.... The breeder is going to have to figure something else out.
But the thought of terminating upsets me terribly.

Thank you for your answer, and I understand the prob now. Sorry I misunderstood at first, get the little girl taken care off. Advice from Vet is best. In my mind, breeders dont care about the animals, just breed them to make money. Hope all goes well, pl let me know how it goes.

I agree most breeders are puppy mills... But our breeder only breeds twice a year form two diferennt sets of parents...(that is two females each have one litter a year) she treats then like her babies and keeps thm in her home. They dogs are so well ajusted because of the care she gives them...That is why I agreed to help her continue the blood line. I will let you know hoewthing go at the vet tomorrow... Iam soo scared to put our little girl to sleep...

it just depends on the situation if having a baby for that animal is going to put them in stress you shouldnt let them have the opportunity to get pregant other wise you shouldnt
