Calculating the energy of an object which mass is 200,000 kg and it moves at a velocity of 20 cm per year:
The equation used is E = ½ mv²
m =200,000 kg
The given velocity of the object is per year and this calculation is with days: 1 year = 365 days.
20 cm=0.2 meters
V = 0.2 meters/ 365 days = approximately 5.479452 x 10- 4 meter/day.
E = ½[200,000 kg x (5.479452E- 4 meters / day)2] = approximately 4.022E-12 joule
