A virus is a small infectious agent that can replicate only inside the living cells of organisms.
A computer virus on the other hand is a computer program that can replicate ittself an spread from one computer to another. The term "virus" is also commonly but erroneously used to refer to other types of malware, including but not limited to adwere and spyware programs that do not have the reproductive ability.
