      These are usually finished in Gloss enamel (oil based )paint. Under coat first with oil based undercoat for best results.Sand with fine (120g) sand paper before you start.Paint the bottom 6 inches with a relatively dry brush first.This prevents paint pooling on the floor at the bottom of the trim.

        Be more specific.Do you mean the return at the edge of the architrave?Or do you mean the entire door trim.
