    If you buy a house in the UK

    and the boiler leaks, the immersion heater does not work, water is cascading down a wall on the outside, the fence blows down, one shower is scalding water only and the white goods left are all really old and broken can I claim from the vendor?

    OF COURSE NOT... You bought it in that state. unless you did not view before purchasing.. Or had a representative view for you. In which case it is " buy as is " and your fault for being silly.
