Iron overload can cause people to develop diabetes and can damage heart and brain, leading to heart attack and stroke.

Not so sure that you need to if the level of iron in your blood is normal. However, iron overload(Hemosiderosis) can cause many problems but are rare - cirrhosis of the liver, bronze pigmentation of the skin, diabetes Mellitis and the list goes on but as I said rare.
Of coure one can be low in iron - iron defiency - but the physical effects would indicate this tiredness.

I am not sure if you need more or not.The best form is by eating dark green leafy veggies.Supplements need to be taken with care as misuse can cause unwanted side effects(constipation,blood clotting disorders).Wish I could be of more help Mel...xoxo
