I prefer a laptop because it provides the functions I need, such as Word and faster writing abilities, which Ipad doesn't. On the other hand, I'm not that familiar with all the advances of the newest Ipad. I think you should examine the features Ipads provides and compare it to laptops, and according to your needs, choose what's best for you.
