Not all dogs bark. Huskies make a very odd noise. Howling is normal for an Irish Wolfhound. Your problem isn't stopping it: it's making sure it doesn't annoy your neighbours by allowing it to vocalise too much. Company will help so bring it indoors if it starts howling. If you are out a lot another dog MIGHT help. If your home is close to others, or it's you who dislikes the howling, consider rehoming it... but don't give it away. Offer it for sale at a sensible price so only people who really want it apply, and tell them what to expect if they don't know. You bought the dog so you have a responsibility for it's future welfare.
