Most all of you are correct. However, Relative to size, the strongest muscle in the body is the tongue. The following are muscles that have been deemed the strongest based on various definitions of strength (listed in alphabetical order): External Muscles of the Gluteus Maximus – the largest muscle in the human body. Heart – the hardest working Masseter – the strongest muscle based on its weight is the masseter. (Jaw). Muscles of the Uterus – Its muscles are deemed strong because they contract to push a baby through the birth canal. Soleus – the muscle that can pull with the greatest force is the soleus. (Found below the calf muscle). Tongue – the tongue is a tough worker. It is made up of groups of muscles and like the heart it is always working http://www.loc.gov/rr/scitech/mysteries/muscles.html

Yvonne57 has obviously done our homework. I would have said "heart", though. It is constantly working, and the rest do have a chance to rest!
