Adjective is a word that describes a noun or pronoun.  They usually come before a noun, and on rare occasions, come after one.

Examples of what has been explained to you by Chiangmai:

Tall, handsome man  (tall and handsome are adjectives describing the noun "man")

Exceptionally frosty morning (exceptionally is an adjective describing the adjective frosty!)

    Chiangmai

Flowers galore: flowers is a noun, and galore (means a lot of) is an adjective that comes after a noun.

thanks for covering that one. my son was here for a nice visit and my mind was drawing a complete blank on that example.

Don't you kids ever do your homework at decent hours??? My, but how the times have changed! And I don't just mean time zones!..(:
