            " Carmex" lip balm.  Shortens the duration, per my hubby.  He gets them in times of stress or too much sun exposure.  He likes that approach and says it works..  I've never had one, unbelievably, after 21 years of marriage.  Curiously,  never had a reaction to poison ivy,  either,  when my husband AND daughter both must have steroids to clear them up.  Will NOT go away on it's  own for either one!!
