Find a local beer making supply shop, and inquire, many give classes on brewing. Most valuable is that there are tastings, these not only give a night out atmosphere during the sessions, but they allow you to define what you like and dislike. It is much better to find out this way, than to waste time and money and become disenchanted after making a batch that you dislike. They charge for the class, but much is gained and in the long run you save much money and aggravation!
