    Are non-competition agreements valid in Alberta?

    The laws vary from country to country, but as a general rule, a non-compete just won't hold up unless you are stealing proprietary information. A company has no legal right to stop you from working in a given profession. (Even if you signed a non-compete agreement, in most circumstances, there is nothing binding you from making a living elsewhere).
