Which is more detrimental to your credit rating? Being turned over to a collection agency or making less than the minimum monthly payments due, yet making some type of effort?

At least you are attempting to pay something, once it is given over to the collection agency your credit rating drops, hang in there and keep paying what you can. The other downside to paying a limited amount is that you will be getting nowhere fast with the intrest.

When reading your credit report there are numbers asingned the each account... # is slow payment 4 is no intent to pay.... Both are not good but the effort is represented.

Being turned over to a collection agency is definitely not good.  You should be able to phone a service agent and explain your situation.  It usually is possible to work something out.  Making an effort is always the better way to go.
