Walgreens, Lowes, Walmart and Home Depot are a few places where you may purchase mothballs.

Use caution when you purchase mothballs, some are illegal. The University of Maryland Cooperative Extension Newsletter (UM) warns consumers that legal mothballs are white, while "illegal mothballs are often sold in pastel colors and resemble candy" or gumballs. Legal mothballs come in packaging with an EPA registration number listed on the outside. Additionally, instructions and warnings will also appear English. UM also recommends not buying mothballs with only Chinese characters on the label.
