It is likely he will be served by whomever is representing the public defender in your son's assigned courtroom. This will change with each subsequent appearance, so there will be no consistent representation. The defender of the day will speed read the file notes and agree to calendar the case for another month out. This will continue indefinitely. Hopefully, by the time your son is finally sentenced, if found guilty, he will not have exceeded days in custody over the sentence. It has been known to happen.
