I came across it by accident and when I checked it out I liked it alright. It can really be informative and enjoyable and with some humor I enjoy. I just hate the racist people that are on here always putting people down, I don't have time for that crap.

came across it by accident. love it !

    Curiosity.

It was kinda like getting sucked into a tornado!

Like Chiangmai I got some microsoft update & this blue rectangle turned up on a new toolbar.

I ignored it for a while & the curiosity got the better of me.

That was 72000 karma points ago.I don't do it for the points but it's interesting how they grow.

"getting sucked into a tornado" omg, you said that so well tommyh,
people who don't know it, just don't know it.

When I changed some Microsoft program, akaQA somehow was on my tool bar.  I clicked to see what's happening and decided to timidly (if there's such a thing about me) ask my first question.  "ninnet" was the first one to answer a relatively difficult question.  I then decided to come back again to ask different questions, and many times got myself in trouble with the "big wigs" here.  After a few warnings and suspensions, I am still standing and am having lots of fun with you all!

Note:  After one month my karma was a humongous 275 points.

I remember ninnet. I wish he'd come back.

@ arryoudini: funny, and I thought you were a choir boy all this time.

there's a long blue rectangle on the top of my page it reads 'You got answers." If I click on it and I see some of the questions I asked. the second one is "who knows who snape is?" the third one is "do any of you go dancing"

I wrote those questions and got my answers last april (I think) after that I was addicted. what ever is on my mind I can get an answer. It's different from google - It's personal.

(sorry I have no capital letters. my good computer is in the shop.)

The rectangle was on my toolbar and I wondered what it was for after a year of it being green and telling me to ask a question...I asked a question and the rest is recent history.

I too stumbled upon it by accident. Instantly I was hooked. I like to help others and enjoy the good people who share my view of this site. Sometimes I do get annoyed by vulgar or ignorant comments/questions,but that is life !

Every time i was on my computer back in February i think it was, a blue box wouldn't go away i ignored it for some weeks until i got sick of looking at it so i  decided to click on it ,i was weary filling out my  profile didn't know what i was getting myself into,so i'm thinking to myself what question can i ask and i posted some silly question,it wasn't until i started to have a look around on the site that i realized it looked like a friendly helpful bunch of people just doing their thing.I was hooked and began to take things seriously. So 95 thousand Karma points later, here i am and doing my thing.

my family got me on because i had no friend and now i feel good because i have u guys and we have our ups and down....

Curiosity, a refreshing change in conversation. Mental stimuli. Something different Instead of listening to the same old BS everyday from the loiterers in my shop.

I was looking for songs for my dads funeral... and thought hey I wonder if this thing actually answers crazy question like that.

Dad is still going, not so strong, but he is out of the Hospice Center and at home.... So Life is good.

my neice was over and downloaded ortel games and this was included for weeks i saw the "ask a question" bar , one day i clicked on it and now i'm a junkie i'm totally addicted

Saw it on my toolbar.  I love it because you get answers back so quick.  And I feel this is some darn great communications and opinions going on here. I love it.

It suddenly appeared on my tool bar, don't know how it got there.  So, I worked up the nerve (after a couple of beers) and was thrilled that I could ask a question. I did and now I'm hooked, can't seem to stay away......

I got kicked off of Yahoo Answers for stating an opinion. I may have called someone a name, like " stupid ", or something. Oh well, I tried this site and am really working on my people skills. Ha. I like everyones answers as some people are really intelligent. I haven't seen too many racial slurs on this site. Racism is often confused with disagreeing with someone, especially the president.
