    Walking alot each day will help you with your Depression. If not, you might have to get professional help. Best of luck.

    As Jenn has said I think alot of ppl on this site have suffered with depression I would see a Doctor sooner rather than later and get help do not suffer in silence and it is nothing to be ashamed of and try and get active if possible or do some voluntry work this works wonders good luck

    I battled with depression for 15 years.  One day I woke up and thought, "I can't feel like this anymore.  It weighs too much.  It hurts."...That is when I really began looking at things.  I changed my environment one item at a time.........I addressed what I really didn't like, what was making me sad, where these feelings originated and who was facilitating the process of me feeling the way I was feeling.  Every week I changed one thing...then I found myself changing something each day...I even did things such as take a different route to work, shop in a different grocery store or fill up at  a different gas station.  I even began using different words...I changed the way I looked at a lot of things and I changed the way people spoke to me.  If they didn't change the way they spoke to me then I kicked them to the curb (metaphorically).  It took a very long time but depression is not my reality any more.


    It was a lot of work but it was worth it.


    I was sick of being sick actually.

    Depression has been my sidekick for most of my life.  For nearly 20 years, I have taken medication to help me "battle".  It doesn't put me in "LaLa Land".  It keeps my head above water, but I have to do the treading or I will sink.
    Make an appointment with a therapist and try to learn the source of your depression, how to live with it or overcome  it, and if you need medicaton. . IF you start medication, take it as prescribed and don't abuse it.
    Depression is a nasty disease, debilitating, socially destructive, potentially fatal..

    Depression is mainly caused by stress.  You may fight against STRESS this way:


    S - Smile or laugh (laughter is the best medicine)


    T - Trust God who is able to take care of you


    R - Relax (inhale deeply, hold it for 10 seconds and then exhale)


    E - Exercise (walking, etc)


    S - Supplicate or meditate


    S - Sing or hum


    Spell STRESSED backward.  You will have DESSERTS.

     Ithink the majority of ppl on this site battle depression. Keep active, see your doctor and talk honestly with him about it... He can refer you to a mental health facility.

    I should add that I also exercised and walked a lot and I had a great dog that always agreed with me as I poured out my heart and soul on these walks!  Kidding.  No it's true.   A good dog in invaluable because they do need to go for a walk and that gets you out of the house.


    My life is so different now and so much better...I wish the same for you. 

    Have you had a talk with a Pshycologist ?

    Have a consultation with one,and they might be able to get to the bottom of whats causing you to feel this way.Even some walking/exercise can make you feel better.I know how you feel as i am a sufferer also.

    Its a nasty illness I know!!...rest assured that you are not alone and there is PLENTY of help out there for you!!..Can you get a Psychiatric ref from your Gp?..There are many types of depression out there,,so you need to be diagnosed with which type to get the right treatment and medication if needed!...depression can be cased by lots of things..in the winter lack of vitamin D which we mainly get from sunshine is very common!...Also a big cause can be your feel good hormones..serotonin and/or Endorphins in the brain arent able to transmit/"Jump across" TO THE NEURO TRANSMITTERS ..To the brain..often an anti depressant is prescribed!..I had bad depression when my Dad died and was prescribed a short course of PROZAC...it helped a lot just to get over the worst weeks!...exercise eg running,cycling,swimming floods your brain with endorphins and leave you feeling great!!...It`s changed MY life!!

    Talk with a shrink (that's what I call my Dr. and he lets me get away with it) and if need be, medicate.... I've been taking medication for 30 years and it is finally working, don't give up...
