Got this from some website; the question is a year old, but here's food for thought for anyone wondering the same thing NOW.
Does your manual say "recommended" or "required"? I had a PT Cruiser with a 2.4 Turbo engine. The manual said that premium was recommended, but the engine would run fine (albeit with lower performance) if I used regular. The price of gas is within pennies of each other, so it's not really a matter of economics. I went with the least expensive, but all of this is irrelevant if the mfr of your car says "Premium unleaded fuel only" in the manual.
