Martin Luther believed that all people should be permitted to read the Bible even if the populace at the time was largely illiterate. He did not believe that the Bible should be something that only had a place behind church doors. Martin Luther believed that the Bible was for all man, to be read by every man and to be understood by each man.... and woman of course.
